What do we need from you to rent a motorbike?
- Passport copy
- Driver’s license copy
- Rental fee
- Security deposit
The refundable security deposit can be paid in Thai Baht or also in another currency (e.g. €, ¥ or US$).
We accept online bookings and credit card payments via www.madbike.co.
We cannot rent a motorbike to you without a valid drivers license as proof that you are able to operate the motorbike. All Thai traffic laws and rules apply to the renter. The renter is responsible to obey to them.
Does the motorbike come with insurance?
- All of our motorbikes come with valid tax documents and 3rd party liability insurance.
- The compulsory 3rd party liability insurance (PRB) covers medical expenses and bodily injuries of a 3rd party in case of an accident.
- As per the rental agreement, all damages on the motorbike need to be covered by the renter.
MadBike offers the option to book a Rider Carefree Package which covers all damages on the motorbike up to THB 20,000.00 under the conditions outlined in the insurance documents. Find more information here.
Where can you use the motorbike?
- The motorbikes are intended for use in the respective city’s municipality (e.g. Bangkok municipality, Hua Hin municipality)
- In case of motorbike usage outside of the city, the renter is responsible for ad-hoc repairs and transport of the motorbike back to the respective rental station
How about gasoline?
- Our automatic 110cc, 125cc, and 155cc motorbikes run on gasohol 95
- You are required to return the motorbike with the same fuel level than at pick-up
- In case you will return the motorbike with less fuel than during pick-up, we need to charge you THB 30 per bar on the tank level
When do I have to return my rental motorbike?
- Our daily rental packages are always for 24 hours (example: If you pick up the motorbike at 1 p.m. on the first day, you return the motorbike at 1 p.m. the following day)
- In case of unnotified late returns, we will need to charge you a late return fee
- <60 mins: FREE
- >1 – 2 hrs: 30% of daily rate (THB 100.00, THB 105, THB 135.00)
- >2 – 6 hrs: 50% of daily rate (THB 150.00, THB 175.00, THB 225.00)
- > 6 hrs: 100% of daily rate (THB 300, THB 350.00, THB 450.00)
- Please also consider the individual opening hours of the specific MadBike Rental Station
What happens in case of an accident?
- Please notify us in case of an accident
- In case of damages to the rental motorbike – and you did not book the Rider Carefree Package – you are responsible to cover the costs for fixing the motobike damages. We handle these cases with utmost fairness and transparency:
- Upon return we will assess the damages and get the motorbike fixed
- You will only be charged the required work and material
- Please see a price indication of more frequent repairs or losses (individual case may vary):
- Broken/ lost mirror: THB 400.00
- Broken/ lost mobile phone holder: THB 400.00
- Broken/ lost helmet: THB 500.00
- Lost keys (excl. delivery): THB 400.00
- Puncture (front/ back tire): THB 350.00
- Broken/ lost exhaust cover: THB 700.00
- Broken/ lost front fender: THB 750.00
- Damaged side cover: THB 500.00 – 1,200.00
Where can I pick up a motorbike? Can I return my motorbike at another station?
- We have multiple rental station in each city we are operating in. Please just type “MadBike" in Google Maps search or visit our website here to find the closest location.
For short-term rentals, you are required to return your motorbike at the same rental station where you picked it up.
If you are renting for >1 week, please reach out to us. In most cases we can arrange for a return at a different MadBike Rental Station.
