Travelers love Bangkok for a lot of reasons: its traditional temples, its night markets, its food, its people and many other things. People love Bangkok’s vibe.

At times however, we need to recognize that Bangkok is a chaotic and stressful Asian Megacity; it is one of the craziest Southeast Asian capitals, it has a lot bars & clubs, crowded streets, insane traffic, and many more. That’s what makes Bangkok so unique but sometimes we almost all need to take a break somewhere where we can escape this busy life for a couple of minutes or hours.

One of the multiple advantages of this city is that, even if everything goes so fast in Bangkok, even if it is polluted with a lot of cars and motorbikes, there are some places which remain the best locations to enjoy a break in a quiet and peaceful surrounding.
We would like to share with you our favorite locations for the ones who want to evade the agitation of Bangkok and desire to breathe fresh air.

1. Lumpini Park
Lumpini Park, also known as the “Central Park” of Bangkok, is one of the biggest parks in the city. It is more than half a million square meters big, and the habitat of various flora and fauna. This place is the center for outdoor leisure activities for Bangkokians to enjoy a round of jog, light workout, aerobics and a host of other recreational activities.

We like this place because it is an inner-city haven of tranquility, fresh air and shade. You can watch the big lizards wandering in the park and eating fish from the lake.

2. Bang Kachao

Bang Kachao, also named the “Green lung” of Bangkok, which is a little preserved corner, without big construction and with small cement paths that crisscross the trees, is a great place to relax in nature and calm. There, you can have a great time surrounded by botanical gardens like the famous Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park. You will be able to discover the wildlife and the quiet area of Bangkok.

If you go there on weekends, you will be able to visit Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market, a traditional market for Thai people, not crowded by a lot of tourists which makes it authentic and nice. It offers traditional street food, gadgets and a lot of others surprises.
To reach Bang Kachao, you can take a ferry to cross the famous Chao Phraya River, sometimes called “The Venice of the East” by European visitors and appreciate the Bangkok’s view from the boat.
